Artist/instructor Gail Mc Daniel (third from left) greets art teachers from Middle Tennessee schools during the ninth annual Chase-Away-The-Blahs Party Artistically. The year-long fundraising campaign, which ended with the live auction, raised $12,027 for the purchase of student art supplies. The Franklin watercolorist will present $6,315.50 in award grants to 17 art teachers of Williamson and Davidson county public schools during an awards reception at her Franklin studio on Feb 25. The remaining $5,711.50 will be donated to the PENCIL Foundation’s LP PENCIL Box, a store that provides free educational supplies to area schools. Celebrating with Mc Daniel are (from left) art teachers Rachel Motta of The Kings Daughter’s School in Columbia; 2009 grant winner Kelly Selfe of Moore Elementary in Franklin; 2009 grant winners Linda Owens and Sharon Byers of Freedom Middle in Franklin; and 2008 grant winner Ted Edinger of Tulip Grove Elementary in Nashville.
